I will survive!

Today marks day #1 of my fitness Boot camp. And that fact that I am writing this post will let you know I made it through alive. Muhahahhaa! 🙂

I started my morning at 4:45 am and fueled up with a half of arnold sandwich thin toasted with peanut butter. This girl needed some fuel to start her morning workout. I arrived at camp at 5:30 am and was told to run a warm up lap.

We began with a few warm-ups & stretched and then it was fitness testing time. We did burpees, mountain climbers, sit-ups, squats, jumping jacks, push-ups, toe touches, and a timed 400 meter run.

I was stoked to have finished my 400 meter in 1:52, if I could have held that pace for 3 more laps I could have done about an 8:00 minute mile! Woah turbo!

I was also really excited to see that I haven’t lost too much strength since my 30 Day Shred days. We seriously did about 100 push ups or more which I will definitely feel the pain tomorrow. I was able to hold about half of them as manly push-ups. Yeah!

To conclude day one, I was sweating, I was tired and got the feeling that I might lose my pre-workout breakfast at one point. I have not put my body in the position of these intense workouts since I was in boot camp last summer. I know that it’s the kickstart my body needs to get back on track to toning and firming and building huge muscles. So I shall continue on tomorrow! (My arms & legs feel like jello!)

Tonight’s agenda includes a meet-up with the Will Run For Wine-ers about a 3 mile run in store for us, big hill included. Then my mom wants to Zumba too. If I am superwoman and successfully make it through all this I am amazing. I don’t know if I have ever done a Three-a-day? But hey, why the heck not?!

Hardcore Linz is Back!

(Should be sung to the tune of Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake) I’m bringing Linzi back… I’m bringing Linzi Back… Woop!

Okay, I actually wrote a whole rap verse but thought it was too silly so deleted it. This is what happens when I wake up early, apparently I have too much energy and want to make rap songs about my sweet muscles.. Haha..

Onto breakfast which was Thai-Inspired… OMIGAWD, best smoothie ever by the way. The only sad part was there was no spinach involved, I am sure it would have tasted fine, but I was too excited about all the fruits involved!

My Thai-nspired Smoothie

1 banana

1/2 cup of almond milk

1/2 cup of lite coconut milk

1/4 inch grated ginger

1/2 cup frozen mango

1/2 cup pineapple juice with crushed pineapple

1/2 cup frozen peaches

dash of cinnamon

1 scoop of protein powder

Yum Yum Yum! I think the ginger was the secret ingredient on this one. I hadn’t even thought about using fresh ginger but I had a piece laying around and got ambitious. You should give it a try!!

Check back tomorrow when I reveal my big Spring Break plans…. oohhhh…….aahhhh….. 🙂

  1. holy moly…good luck on the 3 today! Awesome job on the 400 time! My body would hate me, but at least they are spread out, right??? I am liking your creative smoothie recipes lately!

  2. Three-a-day?!?! 100 pushups?! I ache just thinking about that!! 😉 Would it help with the nausea if you ate something a little lighter or maybe ate a little bit earlier?

You signing up for bootcamp actually inspired me to sign up for something fun/crazy myself – I’ll blog about it soon!

    • Ohh.. I am excited to hear about it! I think my nausea was due to intense muscle workout. I was working my muscles so hard I felt sick. Sounds weird, but I don’t think it was related to my breakfast. Will have to test it out though and let you know.
