Looking Back

It is with no doubt that I can claim 2011 as one of the most life changing yet amazing years of my life.

Not only was it a year for big life changes, but it was a great year for personal achievements as well. It’s been one heck of a ride, and I’ve enjoyed every single minute.

Here’s a look back to my top events of 2011.

I ran Robie!

This race has been dubbed “the toughest half marathon in the Northwest”, and now I know why [it’s pretty much 8 miles straight uphill, and a very intense downhill to follow].

Races ran: 8  [1 marathon, 3 half’s, 2 10k’s, 1 5k, 1 relay]

Year Mileage: 576.50

I tried to use my 2010 monthly stats to motivate me this year to beat that number each month.

  2010 2011
January 24.75 22.75
February 24.25 32.75
March 34.50 45.75
April 34.75  48.25
May 47 55.75
June 58 47.25
July 68 46.75
August 100.5 62.75
September 74.75 70.25
October 74 54.75
November 65.5
December 17.5 24
Overall Total 567 576.5

As you can see, I barely squeaked by in beating my last year’s mileage. I’m still happy with all that I’ve accomplished this year, as I realize my mileage was down because I added more cross-training into my routine.

All and all 2011 was a great year and I’m proud of all that I accomplished. Thank you all for your motivation and support over this last year. It has meant a lot to me.

Here’s to a rockin’ 2012!
